Village of Brockport Tree Board Gallery

Arbor Day 2011
Community members raised $4000 to plant trees on streets surrounding the campus in commemoration of the college's 175th anniversary .

In 1829, Brockport was still “engulfed by forests yet standing in their native maturity and vigor.”

One approached the village on the canal through shadows of “the towering pines, the lofty wide spreading elms, the gigantic maples, whitewoods and sycamores …”

There was a large Sugarbush on 4th Section Road as well as apple orchards. At one time, 40,000 barrels of apples were shipped from here.
